Latest Updates from Our Project:

The Odyssey of the Egyptian Fleet
over 2 years ago – Wed, Jul 14, 2021 at 11:16:48 PM

Hello Everyone!

This update was supposed to bring you the news you’ve been so eagerly waiting for, that the shipment process of Successors is in full swing. And while shipping has in fact started, we had to pause it almost immediately.

It’s all because of the missing Egyptian fleet. Or, to be more specific, the missing token for the Aigyptos fleet marker, one of the eight naval forces in the game. Due to an error in preproduction, the token never made it onto a punchboard. And since this is not supposed to be an invisible fleet and the token is vitally important to the gameplay, we can’t send you your copies of Successors without it. We are extremely sorry for this entire situation.

Fortunately, the printing of the missing Egyptian fleets and most importantly the reassembly process (most of the boxes are already plastic-wrapped) won’t take too long, we anticipate a delay of no more than two weeks. The shipping will resume as soon as possible. The second good news is that this delay won’t affect the printing and shipment of non-English editions of Successors.

As previously mentioned, before we noticed the Egyptian problem, some of the copies had already been sent. Those of you who’ll receive these copies don’t have to contact us – we’ll send you the missing tokens as soon as they’re printed.

The reason we’re not sending you Successors as they are and then shipping you the Aigyptos tokens separately is rather prosaic. I’d be prohibitively expensive – it wouldn’t just eat all our profits, it would force us to go bankrupt since we are talking about approximately 2 000 additional packages, most of which would have to be sent overseas and shipping rates have unfortunately risen exponentially in the last two years. We simply can’t afford to do it, it’s beyond our financial capabilities. We’re very sorry for that.

Coalitions’ last hours on Kickstarter

We’re in the last hours of Coalitions’ Kickstarter campaign – this is the last chance to back the game and receive a number of bonuses and free expansions, including a large one with its own board! Perhaps you’ll be interested in backing Coalitions now, perhaps during the late pledge. Regardless, we’re very happy some of you have already decided to support our latest project and we hope your belief in the quality of our games will be reinforced after you receive your copies of Successors.

The only photos worth seeing today
almost 3 years ago – Sat, Jun 19, 2021 at 12:22:33 AM

Hello Everyone!

I hope you’re all well.

We’ve finally received the production report on Successors and we want to share it with you. The printing of the paper components is well on schedule and the assembly of the first copies should start as early as next week, which means that the date we’ve set for the beginning of the shipping process – early July – seems to be pretty much secure.

They say that a picture is worth a thousand words, so here it is:

Yes, that's all the game components and the box!

All deadlines from the previous update will be maintained. Current arrangements with the printer and the logistics department do not foresee any delays. That means all English-speaking backers who supported only Successors will receive the game by mid-August. In the meantime, the printing of all other versions will proceed, indicating that players with non-English Successors will receive the game by mid-October.

As a form of compensation for the delays that have affected both you and us, we have decided that the Artbook for Successors will be released in hardcover instead of paperback. And here are some photos of the inside of the Artbook test print run.

Hannibal & Hamilcar: Golden Geek Edition & Upgrade Pack

All the files were prepared and handed over to the printers a few weeks ago. The plastic components are in place, so only the printing remains. Unfortunately, due to changes in printing dates and the fact that Successors has been given top priority in order to complete the project as soon as possible, Hannibal & Hamilcar: Golden Edition and Upgrade Pack won’t be ready to ship until December. Over the past weeks we’ve been trying to find a solution and to speed up the process, but unfortunately – as things stand – this is the first available date for this project. We won't be able to complete printing and assembly any sooner than November.

Those of you who have purchased both the upgrade pack and Hannibal & Hamilcar: Golden Geek Edition will have to wait a little longer to receive either the game or the upgrade pack along with Successors.

We’d love for you to have the opportunity to see how much heart we’ve put into these projects and for you to play both games as soon as possible, but unfortunately we’re unable to do so. The cost of courier shipments has risen dramatically over the last months and for us to offer a two-wave shipment would make the whole endeavor prohibitively expensive. And while we’re board game enthusiasts first and foremost, and we’re the happiest when others can grow in this hobby through our games – we have to take into consideration the welfare of our employees and their families.

Therefore, if you are keen to receive Successors as soon as possible, we must ask you to cover the cost of the second shipment. Another option, which we cannot really recommend, would be to cancel your Hannibal & Hamilcar order and stick with your Successors pledge only. Be advised, however, that the game may not be later available in retail at the price you paid for during the Kickstarter campaign. If you’re interested in either of these solutions please send us a private message or write to us at [email protected].

The only thing we can offer you, outside of our sincerest apologies for this unfortunate situation, is the enhancement of the game box as well as of the upgrade pack. We will enrich the pack with additional components that weren’t originally planned to be included in it. It’s the least we can do.

What next?

Our development team has completed all work on these two projects. It’s been focusing on new projects for quite some time now – prime among them is the Coalitions campaign currently running on Kickstarter.

Coalitions is a game for 1-6 players, who take control of asymmetrical factions in the age of French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars. The gameplay, heavily focused on negotiations and diplomacy, has been enriched with a unique mechanic – the Activator system (related to movement) – and offers no downtime. Actions are performed simultaneously by all players. Yes, after you complete your actions, you won't have the time to make a cup of tea or check your phone – when you play Coalitions, you have to be in the game all the time.

We’ve prepared a special thank you for each of the backers in the form of an exclusive set of diplomacy miniatures and a large expansion (Ancien Regime), which is actually a separate game, with several new mechanics and a new playable faction (bringing the game to up to 7 players). The expansion is completely free for anyone who decides to support our project, and soon the content of the entire project will start expanding! If you want to find out more, take a look at the campaign website.

Prepare to game!

“There is nothing impossible to him who will try”

Alexander the Great

Hello Everyone!

We hope all is well with you and we are very happy that you have been closely following our container’s journey. So time for a status update 😊

The final stage

We have finally managed to deal with all the logistical matters related mainly to customs clearance and transporting the components to our warehouse. Already this month, the printing house is going to receive the plastic parts from us and start printing paper components and completing the games.

Due to a very large print run (and a number of language versions), our printing house decided to divide the work into several stages - completion and shipments will be made in waves. First, the printing house will take care of the English version, which will be printed in two stages - the first one will be finalised by the end of June. The first dispatches will therefore start at the beginning of July (dispatches will take about a week, although it is currently better to assume two weeks).

During this time, the printing house will continue with printing and packaging. The other language versions will be printed after the completion and printing stages of the English copies have been completed. This should be in August, which means that all backers who have not yet received their games by then should receive their pledges in August/September.

To anticipate questions and requests: Unfortunately, we will not be able to provide anyone with faster shipping. Our logistics centre will send out pledges in the order generated by the list system.

The delays and extended printing times are due to the new deadlines recently set by the printer and problems with paper availability.

As there are few places now potential complications might occur, we assume that we will manage to complete it according to the above schedule. However, we do not exclude the possibility that unforeseen situations may arise during the work which may cause minor delays - we will keep you informed.

Keep your fingers crossed for the final stage of the project to go well!

Through troubled waters
almost 3 years ago – Wed, Apr 21, 2021 at 09:30:54 PM

Hello Everyone!

I hope you are all well and still looking forward to Successors.

The news that the ship with the components is coming to us will probably not surprise you. We do not want to keep you in suspense any longer, so we suggest that you follow the ship yourself... How can you do this? Below you will find a link where you can follow the ship's route in real time.

https://www.marinetraffic.com/en/ais/home/shipid:5759882/zoom:10

As you can see, the ship is currently in the Suez Canal (April 21) and is expected to reach our port (Gdańsk) on May 4. This date may change, but you will be able to follow it as it happens. However, please remember that the moment the ship arrives at the port is not the date when the packing begins. At the port the ship will go through customs, which can take a week. It may take another week for the transport to take place and only then will the packing take place - assuming everything goes well along the way. It is possible that the process will be quicker, but you are probably aware that the situation can change overnight and may take longer.

As soon as packing has begun, you will be informed and further details will be given.

Wind from the sea
about 3 years ago – Sun, Mar 21, 2021 at 10:03:41 AM

Hello Everyone!

We are very sorry for the moment of silence. All this time we were waiting for a reply from the Chinese custodian of our components and we agreed on all the details with him.

It turned out that the queue on the railways and the delays due to the lack of transports, containers and the Chinese New Year celebrations had postponed the shipment of our components a little. So we decided to cancel the railway shipment in order not to have to wait for a place and we managed to book a place on sea transport. As a result, our components will finally set sail at the end of March.

We estimate that they will arrive at the beginning of May, but this is an optimistic assumption and everything depends on the weather conditions and any difficulties on the water. The transport has to go from China to Europe, which is a rather lengthy trip. Once it is in our hands, packing will begin, which will take a few weeks. This means that the first shipments will probably start at the end of May, but please be prepared for June.

We hope that nothing unexpected will happen to prolong this.
